8km outside Bonnievale on the banks of the Breede river, on the farm Eureka, campers will find River Goose Camp Site. It is ideal for those just wanting to relax and enjoy nature while still exploring the towns of the Breede River.

After 29 wonderful years, the Breede River Goose boat trips have come to an end. The devastating floods in May caused extensive damage, and sadly, the boat will no longer sail.
As the river recovers and new life returns to its banks, we reflect with gratitude on the many years of laughter, friendship and unforgettable memories shared with our campers, locals and visitors.
BUT THIS IS NOT GOODBYE TO OUR CAMPSITE!
Although the floods caused damage, we are delighted to announce that our campsite will reopen on 23 October 2026! We look forward to welcoming our campers back to the riverbanks.
As we say farewell to the Goose, we remember our favourite saying: “Better a drink on the rocks than a boat on the rocks!”
Thank you for being part of our journey over the past 29 years. The boat may be gone, but the memories remain, and the story of our campsite continues.

What our guests are saying
This is our 4th time at River Goose Camp Site and we love it. The site is clean, the ablutions clean and with gassed hot water. Regular visits by the owner ensure that all guests keep to the rules. Great shade as it can get really warm there!! A good relaxing place to be and paddling down the river is always great fun. Always recommended.
